Areas of Responsibility: Career & Technical Education (CTE)
I am a mighty New Bern Bear. I lumber through the forest, a sleek black shadow against the sun-dappled leaves. Though solitary, I'm no stranger to adventure, sniffing out berries and insects, scaling trees with nimble paws, and even taking a dip in the cool streams. Winter finds me curled in a cozy den, dreaming of spring's bounty. While cautious around humans, I'm a vital part of this ecosystem, ensuring its delicate balance. Remember, respect my space, and we can coexist in this wild wonderland.
I am a bit of a Mama Bear! I take care of young ones, raising them up to become
successful adult bears in the world, through my job as your Career Coach. I began my time as a bear in February 2025, helping students right out of the gate to achieve their goals.
I am originally from Southport, NC and I am married to my husband, who is a retired Marine, (a Gunnery Sergeant), having served for 22 years. Together, we raised seven children (blended family), and all our children have gone forward to realize their dreams.
I am a certified firefighter, fire instructor and driver/operator in the State of North
Carolina, and I am the founder of the Coastal Carolina Fire Academy, located in
Jacksonville, NC, where I continue to assist from time to time. I also have a master’s

If I had one piece of advice to share with students, it would be that it is never too late to
change your stars. I graduated high school in 1991, earned my bachelor's degree in
2011 and as I stated before, my master’s in 2023. So, the example is set for you all, it is
NEVER too late! I hope you will seek me out if you need help in paving your future, as I
would LOVE to accompany you on that journey.
Areas of Responsibility: PowerSchool, Registrar, Webmaster
I am a devoted father, loving husband, and a retired Marine with roots originally in Allentown, PA. Having called New Bern home for the past decade, I bring a wealth of experience and passion to the community.
My journey in education services began at West Craven High School in the 2018-19 school year, following a distinguished 22-year career in the Marine Corps. During that time, I had the privilege of working in administration and coaching volleyball—an enriching experience that fueled my dedication to serving the educational needs of our youth.
In pursuit of new opportunities, I briefly explored the private sector, but my commitment to community service drew me back to Craven County Schools in the fall of 2023. Thrilled to join the esteemed team at New Bern High School, I am not only a staff member but also a proud parent of two NBHS students, classes of 2026 and 2027. My oldest daughter also graduated from NBHS in 2016.
I consider myself an ally and resource for fellow parents, constantly seeking ways to enhance our support system for students, families, and teachers alike. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the continual improvement of our school, striving to make it the absolute best in the county.
I am genuinely proud and excited to be an integral part of Bear Country, and I look forward to fostering an environment where excellence thrives for our students and community.
