My name is Tiffany Conway and I was born and raised here in New Bern. I attended and graduated from Craven Community College and where I obtained two Associates Degrees in both Arts and Fine Arts. After attending Craven Community College, I went on to attend East Carolina University where I graduated in 2009 receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Education along with getting my Teacher’s Certification for K-12 Dance. After graduating college, I immediately started teaching dance in public schools, local studios and coaching dance teams, such as the NBHS Drill Team. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my husband, family and friends, which is very important to me. I also love traveling when I can, being crafty, learning TikToks, and most importantly laughing.
I am a mighty New Bern Bear. I lumber through the forest, a sleek black shadow against the sun-dappled leaves. Though solitary, I'm no stranger to adventure, sniffing out berries and insects, scaling trees with nimble paws, and even taking a dip in the cool streams. Winter finds me curled in a cozy den, dreaming of spring's bounty. While cautious around humans, I'm a vital part of this ecosystem, ensuring its delicate balance. Remember, respect my space, and we can coexist in this wild wonderland.

Mrs. Estes is thrilled to be New Bern High School's theatre director. After being a Thespian in high school, she attended California State University, Long Beach to study theatre arts. She left "The Beach" with a degree in English Education with an emphasis in Theatre Arts. The passion for theatre has been present her entire life. She desires to share that passion of performing arts with young teens to build confidence, public speaking skills, and "foster empathy and effective interactions with others, aiding in human development regardless of the career path one chooses to pursue." (Arthur Miller Foundation) In addition to being NBHS's theatre director, Mrs. Estes also serves on the Executive Board at Rivertowne Repertory Theatre, the board of North Carolina's International Thespian Society as the Eastern Region representative, and on the Saax Bradbury committee at New Bern Civic Theatre.
I am one of two visual art teachers at New Bern High School. I grew up in Aiken County, South Carolina, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts at University of South Carolina Aiken. I then attended Lander University in SC to complete my Master of Arts in Teaching. My teaching career began at Swansboro Middle School before moving back home to Aiken to teach for a few years. I then returned to North Carolina to teach in Wake County before coming to Craven County Schools and teaching at Havelock Middle. I am very excited to finally be teaching high school art! In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, bird-watching, and art-making. Fiber art is the area in which I have become most comfortable, though my art interests are expansive. As an art teacher, I constantly dabble in a variety of media and often use my artistic trials as interior decor, another interest of mine. Planning and organizing vacations is also something that I greatly enjoy, and my boyfriend and I especially love the mountains and going on small hikes with our dachshund mix, Buster. I am also a mom to many plants and revel in the glory of not killing them.
