Mrs. Lori Prescott
I am the Career Development Coordinator at New Bern High School. Originally from Bath, NC, I graduated from Bath High School. After graduation, I attended Pitt Community College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Business Administration and Computer Programming. After 19 years working as the Client Accounting Coordinator for a large law firm and Office Administrator of a small law firm, I started working as Purchasing Agent for Craven County Schools. All the while my dream job was to be a teacher. I loved working with students, I completed my Business Information & Technology Education degree at East Carolina University. I continued my education by receiving my Master's Degree in School Counseling. When an opening became available to teach business at a middle school, I interviewed and was thrilled to accept the position. I loved teaching students about the business world and the vast opportunities available for their future. Later, the opportunity for the Career Development Coordinator became available at New Bern High School. I now use my skills as a supervisor, teacher, and counselor to help students prepare for their future through Internships, Job Fairs, Guest Speakers, and Self Assessments.
