Welcome to New Bern High School! Your experience in Bear Country is important to us. Please feel free to contact any member of our administrative team and let us know how we can help.
I am excited to serve as the principal of New Bern High School. A community school committed to serving all stakeholders. As a graduate of New Bern High School, this is a homecoming for me in my educational journey.
I started my educational career as a teacher in 2004 with Pitt County Schools, spending seven years as a Business Education teacher. As a teacher I was able to provide students with relevant and rigorous learning opportunities, serving on leadership teams, creating school-wide initiatives that addressed student needs by creating clubs to build positive relationships and creating at-risk student organizations.
My previous administrative experience included being an assistant principal at Washington High School, South Central High School, and J.H. Rose High School for almost six years. For the past seven years, I served as the principal of E.B. Aycock Middle School for five years and the principal of J.H. Rose High School for the past two years.
My foundational years in education were all in Craven County Schools. I attended Trent Park, Oaks Road, F.R. Danyus (5th Grade), H.J. MacDonald, and Grover C. Fields before attending and graduating from New Bern High School in 1998. My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, a Master's in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate of Education, all earned from East Carolina University.
Again, I am humbled and honored to return to my alma mater to lead and work with this wonderful staff. All students deserve access to rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences designed to meet their unique needs, preparing them to be college or career ready. By continuing to partner with families and the community, we will continue to grow, build positive stakeholder relationships, implement innovative instructional supports, create integral structural systems, and continue equity-based initiatives.

My name is Virginia Bullock. I was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. I am a Pitt County native, and a product of public education. I come from a family of farmers, educators, and military. I am an alumni of East Carolina University, where I received a B.A. in English Literature and my Masters in Administration. Although I started my educational career in Pitt County, I have been working in Craven County since 2008. I am a dual certified ELA and Social Studies teacher with over 10 years of experience in the classroom. Over the years I have held numerous roles in and out of the classroom including leadership teams, Instructional Leader, and Professional Development Trainer. During my time in education I have also had the opportunity to coach sports. I was a head volleyball coach for HMS for 8 years and a softball and track coach for two years. I have implemented multiple school-wide community service projects including food drives and free after-school peer tutoring services involving community high schoolers and middle schoolers. Overall, I have worked in the education field for the last 21+ years, serving Craven County for the last 18. In 2016, I started my journey in Administration where I was able to work with all three levels of education and multiple local Craven School schools. In 2017 I was hired at West Craven Middle as an Assistant Principal where I served as the EC Administrator and Testing Coordinator for the last four years. I continue to work hard on building working relationships with our County’s families and businesses and look forward to my new leadership role here at New Bern High.

My name is Mrs. Tiana Greene. I was born in New York and grew up in Eastern North Carolina. I am an alumni of North Carolina State University, East Carolina University, and Post University. I entered the education profession through Lateral Entry as a high school English teacher. I served in this capacity for just over 7 years before coming to Craven County in October 2020 as the District High School ELA Coach, until taking the Instructional Coach position at New Bern High School in January 2024. Last August 2024, I was accepted into the Principal Leadership Academy at ECU, an honor that only two Craven County employees receive a year, and I began my second M.Ed in K-12 Administration. I am excited to begin my administration journey, and I will be servicing New Bern High School as the Admin Intern. I am looking forward to building relationships with students and stakeholders alike.
